Debb, I remember quite well the snow fall Mothers' Day 1996. It was my first winter in the Roc. I was so thrilled and enchanted by this unexpected event. While I prefer the spring and summer seasons, I watched in wonderment as I thought to myself, God is in control and he will determine when this season ends.
I have found this is true of life. When experience seasons that we sometimes wish would quickly pass. We grow tired of the cold, the damp, the gray skies and snow. We wonder how anything or anyone could survive the cruel and bitter cold. But before you know it, what seemed to be dead starts to come alive and thrive and puts us in rememberance once again of who is in control.
I truly enjoyed the sight of this winter wonderland from the warmth of my home while watching the twinkling lights on my Christmas tree. I enjoyed it some much until for years I left my Christmas tree up until Mothers' Day. I would replace the Christmas bulbs with hearts for Valentines' Day, Shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day and pastel colored bulbs for Easter. And then I would remove everything except the lights. I would sit and pray and watch the lights for hours. I would wait for God to signal the end of another, but necessary season.
Thank you for sharing and reminding me what an awesome God we serve.
Do you know my favorite book of the bible? Psalm 1.

Debb, thanks for these words of inspiration. Perfect timing for me as I've been going through a personal "winter". You reminded me that God is still in control. Keep up the good work and may God continue to bless you in your endeavors.

I moved to Seattle from Florida and to see the mountains is still amazing to me. God is good!
I just wanted to stop in to tell you it was a blessing meeting you this weekend. What a beautiful smile and calming spirit you have – and I still love your hair (smile). I am so full from this weekend; all of the powerful speakers and messages! I was not supposed to be there but, my mother was unable to attend because she had knee replacement surgery so I took her place and she did not want to lose her money. My girls were blessed and I was too. THE LORD made sure I was there…and I am thankful.

Deb... I love flying for that very reason. I also like flying above the clouds and weather because it helps me understand how he divided the heavens. Enjoy the conference.
